Marcella Agnes Moreno, of St. Petersburg, FL. passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026. She was born on January 4th 1932, in Springfield, MA. to Herman V. Dumas and Nora E. Dumas.
Marcella and her husband, Jesus Moreno, were originally introduced via a 3-cent stamp affixed to a letter that “Jay” wrote to her, which generated a long-distance relationship that culminated in their marriage on July 15th 1951, and continued until his passing on October 15th 2021.
Mom will forever be known for her favorite dish, chicken salsado. While Jay’s Navy career included a tour in Italy, “Marty” took classes in clothing design, which led to a career as a fashion coordinator for Cloth World.
She is survived by her children Bridgid, Laura, Debby, and Rod; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the staff of Magnolia Gardens for their services and support.
Mom never seemed happy after losing “Jay”. Knowing she’s with Dad again – happy, safe and finally at peace brings us a sense of comfort.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Suncoast Hospice
