Marcos A. Alegre, 86, of Seminole, Florida passed away at the Mid Pinellas Care Center (Hospice), Pinellas Park, Florida on January 2, 2022. A native of Huaraz, Peru and a local resident since 2006, when he moved here from Sugar Hill, Georgia. He was a civil engineer; loving husband, father to 4 daughters, a brother to his sisters and a grandfather. Marcos was also a member of the “Mad Dog” Triathlon Team and a avid swimmer, bike rider and workout enthusiast. He was a member and attended St. Jerome Catholic Church in Largo, Florida
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rita (Silva) Alegre of Seminole, Florida; his 4 daughters, Rocio G. Neil and husband, Quentin of Driftwood, Texas; Diana A. Tobias of Largo, Florida; Cecilia A. Collins and her husband, Tommy of Beaufort, South Carolina and Claudia A. Weir of Argyle, Texas; three sisters; Beatriz Garcia and her husband, Carlos of Columbia, Maryland; Dora Edgar and her husband, Eduardo of Miami, Florida and Delfina Zagas and her husband, George of Athens, Greece; one granddaughter and four grandsons.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM, at St Jerome Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd., Largo, Florida 33774 with Father Robert Cadrecha to officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the Mass time.
