Maria Esposito Whitas of Wesley Chapel passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 70.
Maria was a devoted wife, loving sister and aunt, faithful daughter, and a woman who loved God. She was the devoted wife of William Whitas for 46 wonderful years. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship, and love. She was the beloved daughter of Marilyn Lord Esposito and the late Annible Pedro Esposito.
Maria is lovingly remembered by her husband, William Whitas; her mother, Marilyn Lord Esposito; her sister, Marcella Esposito Clark, and her husband, Wyatt Clark; her nieces, Brittaney Collins and her husband, Austin, and their daughters, Clarke and Connley; Bethany Borkowski and her husband, Dave; Brooke Blane and her husband, Cory; and her nephew, Baylor Clark. She is also survived by her brother, Annible Esposito Jr., and his wife, Jennifer, and their sons, Dominic, Tyler, and Trevor, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and generosity.
Maria had a passion for caring for others and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid dog lover whose affection for animals was evident to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed cooking and took particular pride in helping review recipes for family and friends. A talented knitter, Maria lovingly created handmade gifts, especially for her nieces, with each stitch reflecting the warmth, thoughtfulness, and love that defined her character.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, generous spirit, and dedication to the people and pets she cherished most. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and happiness to those fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital in Maria’s honor.
Private family services will be held.
Maria’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness and love.

My dear, darling friend Maria…what a sweet , wonderful and beautiful soul. She was truly the BEST of everything one could hope to be. Maria’s kindness and care of others was beyond reproach. She was always willing to go out of her way to help anyone who might need a hand.
Her loving spirit was evident to all who were lucky enough to make her acquaintance.
My heart aches in knowing Maria is no longer here on Earth, but I am confident she is with God in Heaven. How could anyone be less than joyful for dear Maria? I will miss her always.

You, my dear friend, were a kind soul, with great wisdom, and profound grace. What fun we had crafting, Christmas shopping, and simply hanging out. I pray you know, really know, the impact you had on others. You were an encourager, a supporter, a perfect cheerleader for those in your life. I consider myself abundantly blessed to be able to call you my friend. You’re in glory! Oh, my, I can only imagine!!!! Until we meet again; I love you, my friend.
Maria was one of a kind. Seeing her live life made me want to be a better person. She loved everyone and showed it all the time. Though she was small, her giant heart made all around her love her too. Her kindness was contagious and everyone she met liked her instantly. I always feel good when i think of Maria so she will always be with me.
