Marilyn Allen passed away on August 20, 2024 in Seminole, Florida, age 90. Born to parents Leo and Florence Trombly in Lowell, MA.
She married James Allen 65 years ago and both were blessed with three children: Michael, Peter, and Cristina; grandchildren Chad, Ryan, Bria, Owen, and Cristian; great grandchildren Kameryn and Harper; Step grandchildren Michelle, Edgar, and Yuliam; Step great-grandchildren Isabella Marilyn, Valerie, and Luna. In the 1990’s she and Jim welcomed an exchange student from Spain, Igancio Ortega, inspiring a special connection with his whole family for the rest of their lives. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Ken, and husband Jim who passed away last year.
She graduated from Boston Dispensary School of Medical Technology and worked the majority of her career in the laboratory at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown,PA. She lived and raised her family in Chalfont, PA for more than 30 years. She actively socialized with numerous friends, neighbors, and St. Jude catholic church members. Next door neighbors Hank and Mary Jane Beyer were best friends for life.
She was active in the church in Chalfont (St. Jude), Charlotte, NC, and then Largo, FL (St. Jerome) as a lector, extraordinary minister, and volunteer. She participated in Cursillo and made pilgrimages to Lourdes, Medjugorje, Caracas, and the Camino de Santiago.
She was known for her friendly charm, great cooking (best apple pie), smart shopping, and generous hugs. She was blessed by countless friends, family, and travels around the US, Europe, and ocean cruises.
Her memorial mass will be held at St. Jerome (10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL 33774) 9/07/24 at 1:00pm.
