Maxine L. Davey, age 91, of Seminole, passed away quietly Sunday February 6, 2022. She was born August 4, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Charles and Betty DeSico. She was working in a movie theater when her future husband, patrolman Frederick Davey, was walking his beat and winked at her as he walked by. Maxine knew he was the one. They were married for 51 years until his death in 2001. Looking back at their married life, Maxine on more than one occasion would contentedly say, “it was special”. They had eight beautiful children together. In 1972 the Daveys moved to Florida. Maxine would often remark how wonderful it was to live in Florida. She loved the beach, sunshine, and dolphins. She was an avid fan of the Bucs. She loved her country and was very patriotic. Maxine was a housewife and homemaker who was devoted to her family. She provided her children with an idyllic childhood filled with love and happy memories. Maxine instilled in her children her strong Christian faith, a tireless work ethic, and an indomitable sense of humor.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederick William Davey Sr. and by her son Charles A. Davey. She is survived by her loving children: Frederick W. Davey Jr.(Dianna) Linda Ivory (Dan, deceased), Suzanne Lombardo (Alex), Mary Zenel (James), Michael Davey (Lisa), Patrick Davey (Renee), Luci Lombardi (Bill, deceased); grandchildren Derick, Ryan, Michael, Erica, Aaron, Kimberly, Christopher, Jake, Rebecca, Dakota, and Lauren; and four great grandchildren.
She was very proud of her family and loved them all deeply.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice in Maxine’s honor.

Dear Mary, Ryan, Michael and James, Sending you love and strength at this difficult time. May your joyful memories of your mom (and grandmother) bring your comfort. She sounded like a wonderful person. Love, Julie and David
I always remembered from my young years how happy and joyful Aunt Maxine was. I regret our family did not stay so close after scattering among Michigan and Florida and the death of Grandma Davey. God Bless!
To Maxine’s family: I was trying to call Maxine this morning because I try to always remember her birthday. No phone number would work. Put her name in the computer and learned of her passing on February 6th (my mother’s birthday). I am so sorry. I know she loved you all so much. Aunt Betty Desico was my mom’s sister. I never met Maxine’s family but I wish you all the best. Barbara Jankiewicz Percy (Morrisville, VT)
