In Loving Memory of Michael Christian
January 21, 1947 – May 4, 2025
Michael Christian, 78, of Largo, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on May 4th, 2025, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born on January 21st, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Michael spent much of his life in the Northeast, later residing in Cape May, New Jersey, before settling in Florida. A dedicated and hardworking man, he drove trucks for Fleming Foods for 30 years, forging lasting friendships and earning the respect of his peers.
On July 13, 2007, Michael married the love of his life, Barbara “Bobbi” Christian, at City Hall. Their union was one of deep companionship and love, and they shared 18 wonderful years together.
Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, his devotion to his family, and his love for the simple joys in life—especially fishing, a pastime that brought him peace and happiness. He was a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and husband who found joy in the time spent with those he loved most.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Bobbi); his daughters, Chrissy and Mary; his granddaughter, Karla Christian; and his great-granddaughters, Aubree and Gia. He is also survived by his siblings, Joyce, Donna, and Chris.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary; his brother, Louis; and his sister, Jean.
The family extends special thanks to Patrick and Yvette Chieves, Cheryl Walls, and Joyce Esenwein for their care, kindness, and support during Michael’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Association in honor of Michael’s memory and in support of others facing this illness.
Michael’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly, and his strength, warmth, and spirit will be cherished and remembered always.
So sorry for the loss of Mike.Love and prayers to give the family strength to get through this difficult time.Lean on the great memories and stay strong as a family.
Mikie and Bobbi were our first welcoming couple when we moved here. You could ask Mikie anytime of the day and he had a good joke and he always made us laugh. We miss listening to his classic rock during the day while he enjoyed his retirement with his wife, while they enjoyed their afternoon 🍹 and 🍺. Hope the fishing is good in heaven. We miss you.❤️love Pat and Yvette
Enjoyed sitting under the carport and talking to him. I will miss him.
I will always remember Mike’s kindness every year that I came to Florida. He always kept His truck available for me to use.He was always so helpful when ever I needed advice on something. He was a great friend to my Husband before He passed. I hope they are still taking fishing trips in Heaven. So sorry for your loss Bobbi❤️
