Michael Kalter, Jr, 84 of Tavares, Florida formerly of Seminole, Florida and Sevierville, Tennessee passed away October 17, 2019 at home under hospice care.
Michael was born June 1, 1935 in Chicago, IL to the late Michael and Agnes Kalter of Chicago, IL. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, watching golf, football, baseball, politics, game shows, NASCAR on TV, playing the lottery, and doing puzzles. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Michael will always be remembered for his sense of humor and youthful fun-loving spirit. He had an enormous love for his family. He cherished his pet yorkies and poodles through the years.
Michael is preceded in death by his son, Michael Kalter III, brother Thomas Kalter, and grandson Stuart Sweemer.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Barbara (Tillotson) Kalter, son Brian Kalter, Seminole Florida, daughter Debbie Lynch, Kodak, TN, a sister Kathryn (Richard) Monasterio of Newport TN, brother Donald Kalter of Chicago, IL, 6 grandchildren: Jason Lynch, Corinne Lynch, Stephen Kalter, Tyler Kalter and Zachary Kalter. 5 great-grandchildren- Layla, Wenston, Wyatt, Devon, Arabella and many loving nieces, nephews and special friends.
A full military honors service will be held at Bay Pines Cemetery on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at VFW Post #9272, 10997 72 Ave N, Seminole FL from 3-5pm on November 15, 2019.
