Words can not describe the feelings I had for you my Son
To The Family All My Love
I am flying to Atlanta for the tournament on Thursday but I will have each of you in my prayers
Love Donna Oliver
I too am a FEMA employee and worked two disasters with Mike. I enjoyed working with Mike and appreciated his approach to the job. Recently we had a discussion about working ROR (from home) and how much we each enjoyed being home and close to our families. Mike will be missed – prayers and thoughts to his family.
My love – there’s no words to describe how I feel now. You were the sun in my life and every day knowing and loving you made life even brighter. You were the perfect role model for my boys. They love you and missed you.
I missed you so much and I love you. This is too sudden love. I wished I could hold you one last time.
I will be praying for all us and your family too.
Love, Sienny
The above is the perfect picture of Michael, ALWAYS SMILING and talked about his kids! Michael came to R7, Kansas City, MO, August 2018, DR-4387-IA. I was new to Finance and Michael was Very Patient with me, Training this OLD dog new tricks. His work ethic was outstanding, unstoppable, unending. Michael was not a stranger to any, helped anyone always/anytime, was full of life and loved life! Michael will be missed by all of us who leaves a Huge Hole in All of Our Heats in the FEMA Finance Cadre. He is a true Patriot/Mentor. My condolences to the Family Michael so dearly loved. It was an Honor to work with Michael. God Bless you Michael and to your Family. Ramona R. Torres, Financial Management Specialist.
My condolences to the Vasquez’ family. Michael will be missed by all especially the National Pinochle Association.
Mike will surely be missed, my prayers goes out to the family.
I worked with Michael also on several events. Not only was he a dear friend but he was a mentor. Michael was always there to help others. He was always so cheerful and could light up any room he was in with his smile and laughter. The one thing that you learn about Michael very quickly was the love of his children. They were his pride and joy.
Even though Michael will be deeply missed, in time, it will be the the small, everyday occurrences that you’ll remember most: the laughs, the stories, the smiles. Although it might seem like the pain will never go away, it is these very memories that will help push the sorrow away and bring back happier feelings, in time.
My prayers and thoughts are with you.
I recently met Michael as he was the FASC for two new disaster for R7. I just spoke to him on TEAMS relating to the initial Spend Plan assumptions and our goals moving forward. Michael was very pleasant to work with , his smile very encouraging. I know that I would enjoy working with him. To the family let memories bring comfort, love and laughter. May the days to come give you the peace that surpasses all understanding and be strengthened by the guidance of Heshem.
I’ve known Mike for a couple of years as we worked on a few disasters together. Recently, he served as my lead for 3 disasters in Region 7, as he exemplified core values of compassion, fairness, integrity and respect. He was a pleasure to work with; kind, patient, knowledgeable and fun. More importantly, he was an individual with a big heart, who loved his family, recently earned his MBA, and became successful in his career while following his passions. His sidebars, humor and real interest in people made him a standout. I worked with him everyday since mid February. Everything was going quite well – and then this very sad news that he is no longer here. I offer my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May God bless you and give you peace as you mourn his passing, celebrate his life and see him go to his ultimate home. Many hearts are broken, many tears shed for this wonderful man, father and coworker.
We don’t know the day nor hour, I just spoke with you a week and a half ago. Glad we had a cool convo. Lifting your family in prayers. Keep smiling in Heaven. I’m glad our paths crossed. May you rest peacefully. Bon voyage my friend. Thank you for always looking out.
I worked with Maj Vasquez in Qatar, Afghanistan, and Tampa as a member of SOCCENT. He was a professional military officer and a skilled financial manager (FM) and comptroller. His efforts in Afganistan made him a “rock star” in the FM community. On a personal note, when my son passed way, Mike’s actions for me and my family were the kindest that I have ever experienced. I am so sorry for loss.

My sincere condolences to the Family. Mike and I have been working together for the past 20 months, although not assigned to any of my current disasters, we kept in touch. So much unfinished business! Mike is one of the most involved FSC and a joy to work with. I am missing him already and he will not be forgotten. RIP “my brother”.
I was shocked to see the sad news. Michael was always there as a friend and fellow Floridian. He was so kind to me right after my stroke, he will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him and how valued he was. My prayers to his friends and family.
