Mike was born on October 28, 1950, in Berlin, Germany, and was adopted in November 1953 by Joseph and Helene Sullivan of Falls Church, VA., while Joseph was stationed nearby as a Commander in the Navy. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary (Arnold) Sullivan; 3 children: Joseph (Rachel) of Oklahoma City, Claire (Adriann) of Maple Shade, NJ, and David (Sofia) of Orlando, FL.; 2 grandchildren: Ashe and Evie Sullivan of Oklahoma City; and his sister, Ellen Sullivan, of Washington. DC. He is predeceased by his parents and Tiger, his beloved dog and most trusted companion of many years.

Mike received his BA and MA from Duke University in Electrical Engineering and his Engineer’s Degree from the University of Florida. Between degrees, he attended Naval Officer Candidate School and served as the Naval Intelligence Officer onboard the USS Saratoga from 1972 to 1978.

Mike worked as an Electrical Engineer and later as an Engineering Manager in Camden, NJ from 1979 to 2012. While his office and phone number remained the same, the color of his checks changed as he worked for RCA, GE, Martin Marietta, and finally, L3 Communications. He retired to Lebanon, PA in 2013 and to Clearwater, FL in 2020.
His hobbies included a lifetime love of Amateur Radio, running, wood crafting, and his dog, Tiger. He excelled in everything he put his mind to and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:30 AM with a reception to follow. The family will then lay Michael to rest at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL at 2:30 PM.
