Missouri Olive Muse

Our Beloved Mom, Missouri Muse, passed away April 12th, 2021, at 4:17 pm surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Muse, who passed away October 23, 2010.

Missouri was born in Dublin, Georgia March 25th, 1924 to the parents of David and Olive Courson. Missouri had a sister Valena Varnadoe who also preceded Missouri in death.

Our Mom worked at the emissions plant in Georgia during World War II putting pins into bombs to help with the war effort. Mom loved doing ceramics and painting and had a ceramic business at one time.  Mom spent many years as a CNA taking care of many people. Mom loved to sit and watch the birds and squirrels that visited her yard daily.

Our Mom lived many places in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida and we all grew up on her stories of her life experiences.

Our Moms initials are M.O.M. which we all considered very special. Mom is survived by her five children, Vern Noble and her husband Chuck of Middleburg Florida, Bernice Henderson and her 2 children and 3 grandchildren, Brenda Ratthe’ and her husband Andre’ of St Petersburg Florida, Stephen Muse and his wife Kathy of St Petersburg Florida, and David Muse and his wife Rosemary of Naples Florida. Missouri has five grandchildren Kim of Middleburg Florida, Susie Hester of Middleburg, Florida, Jeff Ratthe’ and his fiancé Kristen Yousey of New Tampa Florida, Renee and Grady Clark of St Petersburg Florida and Adam and Carena Muse of Naples, Florida,. Missouri has great-grandchildren Crystal and Jesse Mosier and Stone Ratthe of St Petersburg, Florida, Victoria, Trevor and Aubrey all of Middleburg, Florida, Cooper Muse and Victoria of Naples, Florida. Missouri has 2 great-great grandchildren River and Aspen Mosier of St. Petersburg, Florida. Missouri also has one niece Patsy and her husband John Glisson of Palatka, Florida and 2 nephews Steve Varnadoe and Jiggs Varnadoe of Charleston. South Carolina. In addition, Missouri has 2 fur babies Zoe her faithful dog and her dear cat Jane.

Missouri’s children and family will be celebrating her life on Wednesday April 28th at 11 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

The family would like to express much appreciation to Empath Hospice Silver Team and Crisis Team.
