Morton Dearsmith Stern of Largo, FL died on June 30, 2024 of Alzheimer
Disease. He was born on August 8, 1939 in Cambridge Mass to Dr. Morton S. Stern and Lillian E. Stern. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Susan Clark Stern of Largo, FL, daughter Ginger Salisbury of Enfield, CT, son Derek Stern of Inverness, daughter Noemi Putsure of Bradford MA, he is predeceased by his son Adam Stern. He leaves six grandchildren, Miriah Stern, Alleah Masse, Daniel Salisbury, Alex Salisbury, Carrin Russell, Talon Stern, and 5 great grandchildren Mr. Stern attended Watertown, MA high school where he won first place in the New England Science Fair and placed in the National Science Fair. He attended Norwich University and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and a commission in the United States Army. He served in the Army from 1961 to 1964 as a 2 nd Leutenant in the Signal Corps. After leaving the Army he worked as a Manager of Productivity for RCA Aerosystems, in Burlington, MA. He also taught RCA courses and traveled to negotiate contracts for WRCA until he retired at age 48. Not one to be idle , he continued working in Real Estate and established a red deer farm with his son Derek in Whitingham, VT. In 1994, after a mission trip to Hungary, he started as successful scholarship fund for Noemi Toth, a teen he met with a desire to attend college in the U.S. He considered Noemi a special daughter, she now lives in MA, with her family. He volunteered for SOWER (Servants On Wheels Ever Ready) an RV ministry working for 3 years, until he stopped due to health
reasons. Services will be held at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, Fl inside of the Student Center on Sunday, July 14th at 2:00 PM.
