Nicholas Anthony “Nick” Pallick


Nicholas Anthony Pallick passed away on Saturday, January 21st 2023, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Tampa, Florida, after a brief illness. Nick was born in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York on August 5, 1943, the son of the late Nicholas J. Pallick and Elizabeth Kelly Pallick. Nick was also preceded in death by his wife, Maria T. Pallick, and by his nephew, Christopher Pallick, of Little Switzerland, North Carolina.

Nick graduated in 1961 from Bay Shore High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force shortly thereafter. Nick served at various bases throughout the United States as a sheet metal mechanic. Upon discharge from the Air Force, he settled in Long Beach, California. It was here that he met his future wife, Marie T. DeTapia. He was employed by various Air Craft companies. He retired in 2004 from Northrup Grumman. Upon retirement, Nick and Marie moved to Tampa, Florida.

Nick was an active outdoors man who enjoyed sailing, kayaking, riding his motorcycle and traveling with his VW bus. He had a passion for the outdoors—often camping, walking and bicycle riding.

Nick is survived by two sisters, Eleanore M. Pallick of St. Petersburg, Fl, Elizabeth A. Boeller (James) of Tampa, Fl and a brother, Ronald J. Pallick (Mayra) of Little Switzerland, North Carolina. He is also survived by three nephews, James N. Boeller (Sara) of Venice, FL, Brian M. Boeller of Jacksonville, FL and Jonathan Pallick of Little Switzerland. Nick also has two great-nieces and three great-nephews. Nick also leaves behind many long-term friends.

Per Nick’s request, he will be cremated and the internment of his ashes, along with those of his wife Marie, will be in the Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida. Services will be held 2:30 PM, Monday, February 27, 2023 with American Legion Post 273 and the United States Air Force.
