Pastor Jose Antonio Medina Torres, 81 of Dunedin, Florida passed away at his residence with his family at his bedside from protracted battle with cancer. He was born on February 4, 1941 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Leoncio Medina and Francisca Torres. On March 24, 1962, he married Amada Medina at the Iglesia Catolica de Caunilla de Utuado, Puerto Rico. Together they shared 60 years of marriage. His survivors include his wife, Amada Medina; sons: Raul Medina, Alberto Medina: Daughters, Aleris Fraats, Nydia Zaycer, Lillian Medina and Damaris Mendoza, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Joe Medina and Daniel Medina.
Pastor Medina pastored for more then 50 years, was a marriage enrichment counselor and a Volunteer Chaplain and a member at the Elevated Church Spanish Ministry; CEMA; Leadership positions -Pastor, Evangelist, Enrichment Conference Speaker, Founder and President of CEMA (Confraternidad Interdenominacion de Ministros Asociados) (Pastor Association). Pastor Medina lived in Puerto Rico, Chicago and Florida. He loved Classical music; Playing guitar, traveling, walking, hiking, motorcycle riding, bicycling and viewing the ocean.
His proudest accomplishments are his degrees-Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary; Certificate of Clinical Pastoral Education from Rush-Presbyterian – St Luke’s Medical Center Founder. Founder of CIMA (Pastor Association) and the founder of 2 churches.
There are refreshments beginning at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Elevated Church, 4371 76th Avenue North, Pinellas Park, Florida. Funeral services begin at 11:30 AM at the church. Burial will be private. Pastor Armando Reyes will officiate.
