With profound sadness we announce the passing of Patricia Koch. Our loving and devoted wife and mother, grandmother and to all the lives she touched. She passed on September 1st, 2020 after an incredibly courageous fight with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She left us while sleeping peacefully at home in Clearwater, Florida.
She was born in Brooklyn New York September 7, 1935. She met her husband Robert during a baseball game and that started a 70 year love story. Robert gave her Sweet 16 birthday party. After serving 2 years in the US Army he came home and married his love and had 2 daughters: Susan and Victoria. As a young couple they enjoyed summers breaks on Long Island, evenings in New York City while living in Dix Hills, New York. To eventually move their young family to Clearwater Florida where they resided for 50 years.
Robert and Patricia traveled extensively around the world for 35 years. They had taken over 40 cruises across the globe. Stating just the other day their most favorite trip was the cruise around South America.
Patricia was extremely health conscious. She had a passion for swimming, which started 40 years ago. She said that the stress of a day would disappear with a lap in the pool or a walk on the treadmill and of course a glass of wine. We all should have that thought process.
She loved to get up each morning and put on a beautiful suit and heels and go to work. She instilled that passion in her children. That no matter what we choose to do, to do make it our best and be proud of what we are doing, and she was very proud of them.
She loved her furry friends, and there were always fur babies in the house. But, the ones she adored the most were her Maine Coons: Thomas and Smokey. She would do anything for them to have a magnificent life.
She treasured her family and friends and always had the time to listen and lend support with a great ear to help with life’s troubles, problems and relationships. She lived a full life with Robert and her 2 children Susan Plante (Leo Plante); and Victoria Koch (Jack McGowan); one beloved granddaughter Emily, and many nieces and nephews and all her furry
Grand babies. She loved and received love, our hearts are broken, and she will be missed. May the angles have her in their loving arms until we all meet again.

I met Pat two years ago when I moved into my house across the street. She was the first person to walk over and introduced herself and welcome me to the neighborhood. We would meet several times a week at the end of our driveways and just talk about whatever. She just had a very disarming and welcoming personality. I instantly felt an incredible bond with her. She would often call me and offer dinner leftovers especially Monty’s Pizza!
She was a faithful member of our Neighborhood Bible Study and I enjoyed every minute we all shared together.
Obviously I was not related to Pat, but she really made me feel like family. I really am heartbroken and I do feel the loss. In the short two years she really made a positive impact in my life
My prayers to Bob, Susan, and Vicky and all of Pat’s family and friends as I know they are grieving and though Time does heal, the loss never goes away. We just learn to look back and smile and appreciate the blessings and time we had.
I am so sorry to learn of Pat’s passing away. She was key part of our Neighborhood Bible Study, which started about two years ago. I really got to know her through the Bible Study, but prior to that she always waved at me on her walks or as she drove by in her car. I will always remember her great smile!
