Patricia Van Hise-Schafer passed away on September 28, 2026, in Largo, Florida, at the age of 90. She was born on September 6, 1936, in Dublin, Ireland.
Patricia lived a full and active life, embracing every opportunity to stay independent. A resident of On Top of the World, she enjoyed line dancing, working out, playing bridge, golf, and pickleball. She took great pride in maintaining an active lifestyle and her independence.
Patricia’s later years brought her a beautiful love story. She first met Willard “Will” Schafer while Will was working on a golf course and Patricia was there playing golf. Their first date was on February 3, 2017. The couple enjoyed dancing together often at the Elks, and were married on December 21, 2023. Their love and partnership brought great joy to Patricia’s life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Willard “Will” Schafer; granddaughter, Leah Tinkham; nephew, Michael Dent; sister, Carol; nieces, Carrie and Debra; and her step-daughter, Deborah Schafer. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Warren Van Hise; her daughter, Amanda Puopolo; and her son, Danny Puopolo.
At Patricia’s request, there will be no services.
