Seminole, FL – Patrick Joseph Augostino, age 89, passed away on April 20, 2026. He was born in Winooski, VT on August 13, 1936, the 5th of eight children born to Salvatore and Rosaria (Mazzatelli) Augostino.
After graduating from Winooski High School Class of ’53 he served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed aboard the U.S. Yosemite AD19 in Newport, R.I. from 1954 to 1957 where he received an honorable discharge. He then joined the Vermont Army National Guard and worked full time at Camp Johnson, Colchester, VT and various armories around the state of VT. Pat achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. He retired in 1993 after having served his country for a total of 38 years.
On September 8, 1956, he married the love of his life, Arline Plant, and they are the parents of two wonderful daughters, Bonnie and Teena. He spent his retirement on the Florida coast, enjoying good friends and beautiful weather, and was overjoyed that he never had to shovel snow again. During the last three years of his life, he lived in a beautiful home with Arline, Teena and Kim, across the street from Bonnie and Tim, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 69 years, Arline Augostino; two beloved daughters, Bonnie Augostino and her partner Tim Snead of Seminole, Florida and Teena Augostino and her partner Kim Norton of Seminole, Florida and Pawtucket Rhode Island; one brother, Anthony Augostino and his wife, Nancy, one sister-in-law Barbara Augostino and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Rosaria Augostino, his brother Joseph Augostino, his sisters, Catherine Dattilio, Frances McKenna, Mary Lawrence, Anna Stoll and Victoria Lathbury.
A ceremony and internment with full military honors will follow at Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery, Route 15, Colchester, Vermont later this summer, date to be determined.
