On August 23, 2026, we said goodbye to Patrick Joseph Meehan, Sr. Patrick was a charismatic Irishman who lived with zest and loved his family fiercely. He leaves behind his beautiful bride of 14 years, Thankamol “Jade” Meehan, along with his six children, Jennifer Corbett (James), Melissa Meehan, Colleen Cozad (Brad), Patrick Meehan, Jr., Andrew Meehan (Jamie) and Ryan Meehan (Sara). He is also survived by six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He is predeceased by his sister, Margaret Elaine Sansone, and brother, Lawrence Meehan.
Born on Saint Patrick’s Day in 1939 to Elizabeth and Albert Meehan, Pat was raised in Detroit and spent much of his life working to redevelop the city he loved. He had a passion for Detroit, Motown, real estate, and development, and a sharp business mind to match. Eventually, he left the city for quieter pastures in northern Michigan with his two youngest boys, Andrew and Ryan. From there, Florida became their forever home — and Dad never regretted leaving the snow behind.
In 2007, Pat and his friend and partner, Mike Breiner founded Dream Giveaways, combining Pat’s entrepreneurial spirit with his passion for charitable fundraising. Through innovative sweepstakes featuring extraordinary collectible cars, Dream Giveaway grew into a highly successful enterprise while partnering with charitable organizations to raise millions of dollars for those in need. Pat loved the work and the people he worked alongside, often saying that going into Dream Giveaway felt like going home. He was immensely proud of the company they built together and, most importantly, the impact their work had on so many worthy causes.
This world has lost a larger-than-life man, and gained a very unique, charming, loving angel. We know he’ll be welcomed into Heaven with open arms, reunited with so many friends and family who have gone before him. May his Irish eyes always shine down upon us. God rest his soul.
