Funeral services for Mr. Percy Hodges, who passed at Melech Hospice Center on June 5, 2016 will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016, 10:45 am., at Bay Pines National Cemetery, in St. Petersburg.
Mr. Percy Leroy Hodges was born on May 19, 1926, in McComb, Mississippi, one of 11 children born to the late George and Erica Hodges.
Mr. Hodges moved to Tampa in 1950, where he met and married his wife of 64 years. The family joined St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.
He was honorably discharged after serving in the U.S. Navy, during which time he served in World War II and Korean Conflict.
Mr. Hodges was employed by the Coca Cola Bottling company for 36 years, retiring in 1988.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maria L. Hodges; 3 children, Albert Hodges, of Tampa; Mrs. Myrna Hodges Hayes (Barry), of Houston, TX and Michael Hodges, of Tampa; 1 grandchild, Dana C. Hodges, of Miami, FL; great grandchildren, Antoine, Jada, Daja and Zhia, of Miami, FL; sister, Mrs. Bertha Tate of Chicago, IL and a host of other family members and friends.
Friends are asked to gather at Bay Pines National Cemetery at 10:30 A.M. The repast will be held at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church at 1:00 P.M.
