PETER JOHN VANDERVLIS was 77 years old when he passed away at his home on October 2nd, 2020.
Born on December 03, 1942 in Brooklyn , New York he was the son of John & Jennie Vandervlis.
Peter married Marta R. Vandervlis, at their home, April 21, 1984 and were happily together 36 ½ years

Peter was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1967 and toured: Vietnam , Cambodia, Philippines and Japan. He worked at GTE YELLOW PAGES as a Master Printer for 26 years, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Peter also volunteered for Bay Pines VA Medical Center, St. Petersburg, FL for 2 years. Peter also was a PARC-Driver for the children & admin for 14 years.
Peter was a member of the Catholic Church: St. Cecelia, Clearwater and Ranchero Village Chapel, Largo, Florida American Legion # 252, Seminole, Florida, Veterans of Foreign Wars: VFW #7938 located at Ranchero Village, Largo, Florida and a life member of Veterans Plus, Inc.
Peter was born in Brooklyn, New York, moved to Babylon, New York with family, then to Florida in 1972
Peter enjoyed bowling, Boating, RVing/Motor Home and Cruising with family & friends. A/k/a/ known as “MR HANDYMAN” to ALL his kids and took a personal interest in football because of sons: Jim, Tony & Chris.
Peter’s proudest achievement was living the life of a MARINE, always: “SIMPER FI” to his God, his Wife and his Family.
Peter will be laid to rest at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., FL 33708 on October 20, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
Peter John Anthony…THANK YOU for the 36 & 1/2 years you gave me and my children. There is nothing more than I can say, except you made it all perfect as perfect can be in everything. We love and miss you Marine.
