Raymond John Quirion

Raymond John Quirion, 89, died September 10, 2020, at Life Path Hospice in Sun City, Florida. Born on October 2, 1930 in Waterville, Maine to parents Henry and Ida Quirion, he was the second youngest of four siblings.

He served in the 201st Field Artillery Battalion of the US Army from 1952-1954 in Germany where he drove a half-track. After his deployment in Germany, Raymond worked a number of different jobs including at a deli and on a chicken farm.  The majority of his adult work life was spent driving trucks and in the moving business in Memphis and in Tampa Bay, Florida.  He was a very hard worker and always valued providing for the needs of his family. He attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Dunedin for many years until moving to Tampa.  In his free time, he enjoyed playing pool, listening to his sons’ music, spending days at the barn with his grandkids, and being in the presence of his family.  Ray felt incredibly blessed with the family he built and found great pride in everything his children, and grandchildren have done.   He loved and cherished his family most of all and was happiest when with them.

He is predeceased by his first wife of 45 years Florence Rose Quirion, who died on December 1, 2001. Raymond leaves behind, his wife of 18 years, Agnus Patricia Quirion, his sons, Marc, Jerry, and Ovid, and daughter Lisa, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th at 11:00 AM at Veterans Funeral Care located at 830 N Belcher Rd in Clearwater, Florida, followed by an Honor Guard ceremony at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida at 1:30 PM.
