Richard A. Gabory, 74, of Clearwater, Florida passed away at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center, Bay Pines, Florida on April 21, 2021 with family members at his side. He was born on September 16, 1946 in New Brunswick, New Jersey and he was a local resident since 1974 when he moved here from Mansville, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam Theater (Thailand) as Electrical Power Production Specialist and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Combat Medal; the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the United States Air Force Good Conduct Medal. He was assigned to the 660th Radar Squadron at Mac Dill Air Force Base and a member of St Jude’s Catholic Church Cathedral in St Petersburg, Florida.
Richard was an avid bowler and fisherman and he loved going to the movies.
He is survived by a loving family: sons, David Gabory of St Petersburg, Florida and Jeffrey Gabory of St Petersburg, Florida; daughters, Jennifer Gabory of Largo, Florida and Lisa Gabory of Denver, Colorado and his grandchildren: Brandon Gabory, Michael Gabory and Alexa Gabory.
A funeral mass will be held at St Jude’s Catholic Church Cathedral, 5815 5th Avenue North, St Petersburg, Florida with a burial and full military honors at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 1000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Florida.
Funeral Mass is Thursday, May 6, 2021 @ 9:30 am at St Jude’s Catholic Church Cathedral, 5815 5th Avenue North, St Petersburg, Florida. Graveside military honors will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Bay Pines Veterans Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines Florida. Military honors will be conducted by Mac Dill AFB Honors and Ceremonial Team.
