Richard Allan Mock, 69, of Largo, FL passed away in his home September 8th 2021. Richard was born on October 22, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Bernard and Claire Mock.
Richard truly lived an adventurous life, living each day to the fullest. As a child he loved playing saxophone. He often fondly shared memories of playing music with his siblings. At an early age, he had an incredible talent for building and thinking outside of the box. Countless stories of building electrical toys, mother boards, and gadgets throughout his life showcased that his mind was a true pillar before his time. At the age of 18, he bravely joined the Navy and honorably served our country. Shortly after his military service, he rediscovered his passion for technology and engineering, using his natural talents to open his own business and create a life for his family. Richard had a successful career as an electrician, air conditioning genius, and self-employed business owner for over 30 years. He was a jack of all trades and firmly believed in his motto of life “There isn’t anything I couldn’t fix or figure out”.
Richard loved having a good time and taught us that life should be enjoyable. He treasured making people laugh and loved recounting his “younger days” to all who would listen. He spoke the truth, but also consistently provided reassurance and was always there when needed. His proudest accomplishments were being a father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. Richard also loved the beach, fishing, music, and had a huge heart for his beloved animals.
Richard is survived by his 5 children and 6 grandchildren, his eldest son Justin Mock and wife Blossom of Seminole, FL and three grandchildren Justin, Daniella, and Carson Mock. His middle son Eric Mock of Seminole, FL. His youngest son, Jerimy Mock and wife Haoy of Seminole, FL and two grandchildren Malia and Maddox Mock. His daughter Jennifer Mock of Winter Springs, FL. And his stepson Phillip Tillman of Largo, FL and granddaughter Rhylan Tillman. In addition to his children, he is survived by his mother Claire Mock, his two brothers Bernie Mock, Robert Mock & sisters Terry Banning and Sharon Davids.
A Memorial Service will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd. Saint Petersburg FL, 33708 on Friday October 1st, 2021 at 10:30am.
Family and friends can send flowers to his service. A Celebration of Life Tribute will immediately follow the memorial and be held at 17404 1st Street East, Redington Shores, FL.
