Richard Arthur Johnson passed away on December 17, 2017 at the age of 87. Mr. Johnson was born October 15, 1930 to Carl E. and Helen L. (Weindorf) Johnson of Erie, Pennsylvania. In 1952, Richard joined the United States Army and honorably served his country as a Private First Class until 1954. Richard later became a magician and belonged to the Independent International Showman’s Association. Mr. Johnson was also a member of both the Free Masons and The Shriners.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard S. Johnson and his wife, Karen of Gibsonton, FL; his two daughters, Sherri Johnson-Exum and her husband Cliff of Gibsonton, FL and Lisa Johnson-Amato and her husband Fred of Andersonville, TN; one brother, Carl Johnson of Erie, PA, 5 grandchildren, Shannon Johnson of Valrico, FL, Madison and Nico Amato, both of Andersonville, TN and Kyle and Kody Exum, both of Gibsonton, FL; and 7 great grandchildren: Logan, Caden, Lexi, Jackson, Summer, Sidney and Skylar and his best friends, Bradberry, Ward and Chris.

The wonderful memories of Uncle Dick will always be with us. He has greatly colored our lives and his memory will continue to be with us in the future. The years Roy spent on the road with Dick and his family has placed an indellable mark on him. We think so fondly of the Richard Johnson family. Our love and great sympathy and heartfelt prayers go out to all of our family as we suffer this great loss of a truly unique and charismatic man.
