Richard Karl Rodriguez passed away on August 21, 2021at the Seasons Hospice at St. Joseph’s Hospital, which overlooks the area of West Tampa where he grew up. Richard was born at the Centro Espanol on February 19, 1946 to Anthony Vincent Rodriguez and Estela Reyes Rodriguez. He is survived by his ex-wife and longtime friend Susan Rodriguez, his son Rick Rodriguez and daughter-in-law Robin (Harwell) Rodriguez, grandsons Ryan Rodriguez and Rob Rodriguez, and his two sisters, Aileen Wilhite and Sandra Ressler. Richard served in the Navy on the USS Ranger during the Vietnam War and later worked at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa, FL. Per his wishes his final resting place will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida where immediate family will gather Thursday September 9, 2021.
