Robert “Bobby” Jones, 84, born in Covington, Kentucky graduated from Simon Kenton in Independence, Kentucky in 1951. Served as a paratrooper in the Korean war.
Bobby served as a police officer in Florence, Kentucky and as a police chief in Edgewood, Kentucky. In 1979 he and his wife moved to Seminole, Florida. He was an avid bass fisherman. He passed peacefully at Bayfront Hospital on May 27th.
Bobby is survived by his spouse Barbara Jones, his children: David, Jeannie Tona, Cheryl, and Debbie; his grandchildren: Ryan and Jesse Tona, and Marissa Marie Jones; his son-in-law Tony Tona, and his daughter-in-law Tree Jones.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Bay Pines National Cemetery. Military rites will be rendered.

To Barbara & Family…….we just found out today in the Seminole Beacon that Bob passed away. Can’t tell you how very sorry we are to learn that. Bob was a great guy, a very talented painter & handyman, & just a darn good person. He helped me (Laura) a long time ago get a boat for Larry for Fathers Day. Debbie is my mom, I guess by blood Robert would be my grandfather from his first marriage. I never met him but want to offer my condolences to his wife and family.

I was a dispatcher with the Florence Police approx late 1972-73. I was later hired as a police officer with Edgewood PD while Bobby was the Chief. Bobby was a great guy!
