Robert W. Stewart


Robert W. “Stew” Stewart, 77, of Seminole, FL, passed away on April 6th, 2025. Born in Niagara Falls, NY before moving to St. Petersburg, FL, Stew lived a life marked by honor, service, and dedication.

A proud United States Marine, Stew served with valor in Vietnam, where his bravery earned him numerous commendations. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat, the Combat Action Ribbon, a rare Meritorious Mast, and a host of other honors including the Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Award, and qualification as a Rifle Sharpshooter.

Stew pursued higher education with the same determination, earning his master’s degree from the University of Alabama. He went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and served as CEO of several hospital corporations, working both nationally and internationally.

Stew is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Helen (Wade) Stewart; his daughter, Stephanie (Brian) Abbott; his stepson, Justin Deming; his brother, Ronald Stewart; his sister, Cheryl Moorhouse; and his cherished grandchildren, Sophia and Brayden. He also leaves behind many nieces, and nephews.

He will be laid to rest at Bay Pines National Cemetery with full military honors.

Stew’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
