Roberto “Bob” Resto, 78, of Orange Park, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Gulf Shore Care Center in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Born on November 6, 1947, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Bob was the son of Silverio Resto and Irene Ortiz. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a cook before embarking on a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication.
Bob lived in Puerto Rico, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Florida throughout his life. He worked as a charter bus driver and later as an over-the-road truck driver with Ryder, where he earned the prestigious Driver of the Year Award for his outstanding performance.
A devoted Christian, Bob was known for his infectious sense of humor, unforgettable stories, and unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a provider who worked tirelessly to ensure his family was cared for. Those who knew him will always remember hearing him jokingly sing, “Oh Lord, it’s hard to be humble when I’m perfect in every way,” often leaving everyone around him laughing. His quick wit and joyful spirit were just as much a part of him as his kindness and generosity.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Silverio Resto and Irene Ortiz; his beloved wife, Deana Resto; and his siblings, David Resto, Ramon Ortiz, and Juanita Resto.
He is survived by his children, Robert Resto, Tammy Resto, Chuck Resto, and Jason Resto; and by his stepchildren, Jessica Pollard, Shawna Pollard, and Trent Pollard, whom he loved and raised as his own. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and his siblings Samuel Resto, Daniel Resto, Hector Resto, Jose Ortiz, Julio Gonzalez, Carmen Resto, and Maggie Suarez, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Bob’s legacy is one of faith, hard work, laughter, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services will be held at a later date.
