Robin Pitts was born on July 21, 1951 to Samuel Pitts and Jaqueline English in Washington D.C. He passed away on August 30, 2016 in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Marie Pitts of Kenneth City, Florida; former spouse Marie Petite of Kenneth City, Florida; and sister Nancy Pitts Ikley of Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1969 to 1971.
Robin was a resident at Osprey Healthcare Center in St Pete where he spoke highly of the staff. While a teenager he learned to play guitar by listening to Elvis Presley and watching his older brother Sam. This would become his passion. After serving in the Vietnam War he made his way down to Florida. He loved spending days at the beach and even lived in Treasure Island for a time. He was lead singer and guitarist for The EZ Street band. They played many stages, including Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Wagon Wheel Flea Market and the Pinellas County Fair. A highlight for him would be winning the gold medal for vocal rock group at the 2001 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival for a rendition of Light My Fire. He enjoyed watching the history channel and the tv show Jeopardy which he could have won many times if he had been a contestant.
A graveside service with military honors presented by the United States Army at Bay Pines National Cemetery is scheduled for September 12, 2016 at 10:45 am.
Friends and family are invited to share a memory and sign his guestbook below.
Hi Liz. Sorry to hear of your loss. My condolences.
I was 9,he thirteen. We sat in a small living room lit only by the flickering blue of a black and white television. The Saturday Night Chiller movie was “The Screaming Skull”
When the skull popped out the cabinet I hurled myself across the room, into his lap, while he laughed at me.
I did not know Robin Pitts personally, but am glad to officiate at a service for him on Monday, September 12, 2016, to honor Robin and his service to the USA and the world. Robin served in the Army, 1969-1971, and is a Viet Nam Veteran. Condolences and prayers for Liz, daughter of this gentleman, and all who knew and loved him.

God needed Rocking Robin to in his heavenly band
As a member of the EZStreet Band with Robin for over twenty years, we became the closest of friends. We entertained just about anywhere during that time and had just a wonderful time doing gigs such as the weddings, private parties, the Don CeSar restaurant during the holidays. We were hired many times during the nineties, until the venues died out and left us with very little places to play. Robin suffered greatly with arthritis and it got harder and harder for him to play the guitar. And he was the greatest guitarist around very often. He surprised me so many times doing leads that would have impressed the greatest guitarists anywhere. I loved him very much and wanted him to grow stronger, but it just wasn’t meant to be, I guess. He is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and flying high in the sky, playing guitar to the angels. I love you Robin, very very much. I miss you very much. Denny Brayshaw
Knew Robin back in the 60’s and 79’s. He was a good guy. Sorry for your loss.
Robin was in need of very little. The simplest of accommodations was enough for him. But then, he suffered so severely with rheumatoid arthritis, just how much can a person accomplish in his condition outside of merely getting by? And yet, he forced himself outside his limitations and became one of the best guitarists with whom I spent time on a stage. In fact, we played so many gigs together, they are impossible to count. He and my brother were together in a band known as EZ Street for well over twenty years. In many ways, I remember him like he was my brother, and loved him greatly. I wish he was still here, to fool around with a new song. To this day, I still have all his originals on cassette tapes which I converted to MP3, besides tons of recordings made during the gigs we played over two counties. RIP, Robin. I miss you.

Played many places there as well. Robin, you were a good friend. Many great days. Miss ya brother. God bless. Wished I knew, I would have been there. Your friend Bill. Hope someone still sees this.
