Ron Ericson, 78, of Seminole, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2026, following a long battle with Agent Orange-related illness.
Ron was born on April 3, 1948, in Quincy, Massachusetts, the son of the late Walter L. Ericson Sr. and Esther (Davis) Ericson. On March 19, 1971, he married Penny (Patricia) Davis at St. Mary’s Church in Quincy, Massachusetts. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage filled with love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army. Throughout his life, he valued hard work and commitment, working for Semline Inc. and Courier Press. He was also a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Ron and Penny called several places home throughout their lives, including Quincy and Holbrook, Massachusetts, before settling in Seminole, Florida. He enjoyed metal detecting, reading, and most importantly, spending time with his family. His greatest accomplishments were the family he built, the security he provided for them, and his honorable service to his country.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Penny Ericson; sons, Heath W. Ericson and his wife Deborah (Hartnett) Ericson, and Brett R. Ericson; grandchildren, Maura P. Ericson and Colin J. Ericson; brother-in-law, Kevin Davis; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lennie, Jimmy, and Bernie Ericson; granddaughter, Kendra Ericson; and mother-in-law, Theresa Davis.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Veterans Funeral Care, 830 N. Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL 33765. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. A committal service with military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.
