He married Martha Sanders on May 25, 1991 in Largo Florida at Indian Rocks Baptist Church.

After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Ron was part of the Scheffler Flower family of Wheaton, Illinois, boasting 7 acres “under glass” and later had his own floral business on State Street in Geneva, Illinois. Ron was a devout Catholic and after he married Martha in 1991 practiced and became heavily involved in the Baptist Faith where Martha was a member and together they were active and respected parishioners for years at Indian Rocks Baptist Church.   Ron participated for many years in the Indian Rocks Baptist Churches’ outstanding choir, and was a proud participant in their unbelievable annual Christmas Concerts that were enjoyed by so many family and friends over the years.

Among his many interests, were of course flowers & his yard; golf (he had many fun rounds over the years with Martha at Tides Golf Club). He worked tirelessly for the Christian Coalition of Pinellas County and the Right To Life movement; in addition to his staunch support of the Republican Party at all levels.  He enjoyed eating and especially Holidays with his daughter, Laura Larson & family; and daughter, Kathy whenever she came to town. In March on his 88th birthday he enjoyed a full day of Birthday celebrations starting with lunch with Kathy & Ray; Lori & Randy; followed by visits from Brother Jim and ending with dinner and visits from Ronnie & Gina and several of the grand kids. He later said, it was one of the best days of his life and it sure was. He will be missed by many, but is now resting in peace with members of his family that have gone before him.
