Ruth E. Wunderlich, age 96 of Seminole, Florida, died March 5, 2026, at the Suncoast
Hospice Care Center after a brief illness. She was born on September 22, 1922, in
Norwich, Connecticut. She is the daughter of the late Raymond F. Allen and Gertrude
Matthews Allen. On June 28, 1947, she married Christopher Wunderlich Jr.in Ledyard,
Connecticut under the oak tree in her parents’ front yard. Together, they shared 62 years
of marriage. Survivors are her Sister Frances Irving of Concord, NH, Son and Wife Alan
L. and Caron Wunderlich of Preston, Son Warren L. Wunderlich of Waterford, Philip L. &
Valerie Wunderlich of Oakland, Maine. Grandchildren Troy J. Wunderlich, Ryan D.
Wunderlich and Mary Wunderlich, Great Grandchildren Dean E. Wunderlich, Malialani
Ruth Wunderlich and; Cole W. Wunderlich. She is preceded in death by her husband
Christopher Wunderlich Jr., who died June 14, 2009. She worked at the Preston City
School Selling lunch tickets, Norwich Savings Society, several positions before moving
to Florida. She worked at several places, one of which was School Book Fairs. She belonged to
the Preston City Congregational Church and the Preston Historical Society. She
enjoyed sewing and writing. She will be buried in the Veterans Cemetery with her
husband Christopher in Middletown Connecticut, a date has not been set yet. There will
be a celebration of life at the end of June 28, 2026 2 to 5 PM. She was the life of the
party!
