Ruth H Schultz passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 after a short illness.
Ruthie was predeceased by her father, Thomas Swanger and her husband of 52 years, Mel Schultz. She is survived by her three sons: David (Linda) of Largo, FL, Tom (Danielle) of Glendale, CA, and Gary (Jenny) of Loveland, CO; her mother, Pearl McMillian of Windsor, CO; two sisters; two brothers; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She moved to Florida in 1993 from Kendall, NY. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Hamlin, NY Post. Ruthie loved to be with her family and friends no matter what they were doing. She enjoyed, music, crosswords, cross stitching, playing cards and board games, and spending any free time she had with her beloved Mel.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the VFW Post #10094 in Indian Rocks on Walsingham Road in Largo. The Ladies Auxiliary will be performing a service. Burial in Bay Pines Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Donations in Ruthie’s memory should be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or Hospice.
Mom, though being family member for such I short time, I knew you as a friend for many years prior. I always enjoyed you and Mel and you will be missed by so many. You have touched more lives in your lifetime than most people I know. Your gentle nature and friendship was a blessing received by the lucky ones. Dave, Tom, Gary and the rest of the family, your Mom did a great job here on earth and served everyone well. She now lives in eternal peace with her beloved Mel.
