Sandra Lee Sanders
August 23, 1944 – January 29, 2025
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Sandra Lee Sanders, 80, on January 29, 2025.
Born on August 23, 1944, in Ross, Ohio, Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother,
sister, aunt, friend, and faithful Child of God.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian VanMeter; father, Orville Brock; sister,
Barbara Zajack; son, Lloyd Frank Lovejoy; daughter, Deborah Lee Gaide; granddaughter,
Destiny Dawn; and son-in-law, Frederick Birchard. She is survived by her loving husband of 55
years, Samuel Sanders, and their daughter, Samantha Birchard. She also leaves behind her
daughters, Trena Parrett Reynolds and Victoria Parrett Agne (Rich), as well as her sisters, Katie
Young (Donnie), Deborah Schalk, and Monica Allen (Rocky).
Sandy was a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren: Dennis Long, Christina Silverstein (Ryan),
Paul Fumea, Jacob Agne (Melinda), Jeremy Dowling, Justin Gaide, Mitchell Birchard (Tara),
Gina Birchard, Kasandra Bodell (Cameran), April Birchard (Taylor), Amanda Vok, and Hayden
Vok. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews, and 19 great-grandchildren, each of
whom will carry forward her love and strength.
Growing up in Ross, Ohio, Sandy’s family had a strong sense of religion, her father being a
deacon at the church. She shared shared a special bond with her “Mother and Daddy” and her
four sisters. Sandy quickly developed a love for dancing. She was known for her dance moves—
whether it was the Charleston, the Mashed Potato, or the Jitterbug, you may have had the
pleasure of seeing her a time or two. As a cheerleader at Ross High School, Sandy embraced life
with energy and enthusiasm.
At a young age, she became a mother to four children, fully embracing both the joys and
challenges of raising a family. Her journey took her from Ohio to California, before she finally
found her true home in Pinellas County, Florida. It was there that she met Sam, the love of her
life. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Samantha, and built a beautiful life filled with
love.
Sandy’s extended family, including in-laws who became like siblings to her, were a big part of
her life. Whether it was enjoying cornhole at family gatherings, playing cards, meeting up at
Derby Lane, sipping coffee together, having breakfast or dinner, or their annual horseshoe games
at the beach, those moments were some of her most cherished memories. Sandy and Sam tackled
life’s adventures side by side, from running a restaurant to managing various businesses—her
favorite being Sandy Sunday Fashions. She worked in healthcare administration, health
insurance, and even tried her hand at waitressing, all while supporting her family with
unwavering dedication.
Later in life, Sandy’s faith became her guiding light. She devoted her time to Bible study,
coordinated CareFest events, walking through the Christian Bookstore, and joyfully served at her
church’s welcome table, always greeting others with kindness and love. Her love for Jesus
shined through in everything she did.
More than anything, Sandy’s greatest joy was her family. She loved watching her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren excel in sports, school events, and life’s milestones. Whether celebrating
birthdays, graduations, or everyday moments, she took every opportunity to share stories about
her childhood, offer advice, or give an opinion.
Sandy’s legacy is one of love, fashion, resilience and deep devotion to her family and faith. She
faced life’s challenges with grace and determination. She will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Grandma Grandma grandma… Who you were and what you meant to me and my life, from a baby to a man, is commendable. Always there, always present, no matter what. Unconditional love, care and compassion had never once been questioned coming from you to me, and my kids, your 1st great grandbaby Kaylee, and Skylar and Connor. You exemplified grace, beauty, faithfulness and your passion for Jesus was electrifying. Your look, your style, your sass and your pizazz was contagious. I remember when you opened your beauty and clothing store, Sandy’s Sunday Fashions, I immediately think, what an absolutely perfect place for her! And she LOVED her store! I could write a book and breakdown all my Grandmother meant to me and how much of an impact she had on my life and my kids lives but I’ll sum it up in 3 words… IRREPLACEABLE, UNFORGETTABLE AND GLAMOROUS
LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH!
LOOK OVER YOUR FAMILY IN THE SPIRITUAL LIFE LIKE YOU ALWAYS HAVE IN THE EARTHLY LIFE!

you always carried yourself with such grace, always dressed elegantly, with a beautiful smile that could light up the room. When I first met you, at women’s Saturday breakfast gatherings you were both friendly and inspiring, as you radiated kindness and warmth.
