On October 15, 2023 We lost a wonderful man. His name was John Louis Scavuzzo and he was many great things. He was a wonderful son, a loving Husband, a supportive father and a proud grandpa. John died at the age of 67 at the Suncoast Hospice of North Pinellas after losing his battle with an extended illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 30, 1955 to his parents Josette Poulain Scavuzzo and father Giulio Scavuzzo. John grew up loving sports and cars. He discovered a new love Named Linda (Morgan) Scavuzzo. John and Linda were married on September 19, 2009 and lived together in Dunedin, FL.
John is survived by his beautiful wife Linda, his 3 son’s, John J. (& Maureen), Dakota (& Sophia) Morgan (& Amanda), his 4 grandchildren Audrey, Jackson, Kylee and Rose, his uncle Jean Louis (& Yvette), his mother Josette, his brother Pierre (& Tanya), his sister, Sarina and his nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his father Giulio Scavuzzo and mother-in-law Diane Morgan.
John was a selfless man and proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy as Hospital Corpsman. John also worked in Construction and aspired to one day be a General Contractor. With hard work and dedication, he achieved his goal and became a licensed general contractor faithfully serving his community for over 30 years in the field. Notable memberships and or groups he supported were the American Legion and the National Riffle Association.
His personal hobbies and interests included sports, but in particular he was a huge fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels Basketball team. He loved Racquetball and riding his Harley.
John will be missed dearly. He will be remembered for many reasons. He left everyone he met with an individual and unique lasting impression. While everyone would describe him in their own way one thing that remains is all would agree that he was a strong man, and a hard worker. He lived to love and protect his family above all. He loved being a husband, a father and grandfather. He was genuine and the realest person you could ever meet. Those that know John, know that he was a selfless man and during this time of great loss he wouldn’t want us to call the attention unto him solely, but instead celebrate his legacy by loving one another and raising a toast to an exceptional life well lived that grew into the beautiful family he leaves behind.
