Shirley A. Haunstetter, 80, of Tampa, Florida passed away on April 17, 2023, at St Joseph Hospital, North, Tampa, Florida. Shirley’s funeral service is Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 11 AM at the East Thonotosassa Baptist Church, 12735 Knights Griffen Road, Thonotosassa, Florida with Dr. James Brady and Pastor Bill Whitehead, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time. Following the church service, a lunch will be held at the church. Interment and burial will follow at 2:00 PM on April 26, 2023, at the Florida National Cemetery, 9601 SW 102 nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida with Dr. Brady and Pastor Whitehead, officiating.
Born and raised in Islip, New York on March 26, 1943, Shirley moved with her family from East Setauket, New York to Brandon, Florida in 1981. Growing up in New York, she enjoyed the ocean, ice skating and dancing. After raising her three children, she entered college earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Tampa and a Master of Accountancy from the University of South Florida. A Certified Public Accountant with MUNOZ & Company, CPA she enjoyed a good life with family, friends, her church family and colleagues. In Florida, Shirley continued to enjoy the beach, creating with her sewing and enjoying her four grandchildren. Petite but mighty, Shirley passionately protected her loved ones and she will be dearly missed until we see her again with our lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Mildred (Kroupa) Kovarik and a brother, Frank Kovarik and she is survived by her loving family: her husband of 58 years, Francis X. Haunstetter of Tampa, Florida; a son, Frank Haunstetter and his wife, Ramona of Tampa; daughters, Darlene Powell and her husband, Barry of Roswell, Georgia and Denise Haunstetter of Tampa, Florida and her beloved grandchildren: Brittany Powell, Brandon Powell, Frankie Haunstetter and Paulie Haunstetter.
