Shirley Lamb, 79, of Dunedin, FL, passed away on February 20, 2015 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, FL. She was born in Batley, West Yorkshire, England and moved to the United States in 1981. She moved to Dunedin in 2006 from Okeechobee, FL.
Shirley was an excellent musician who played the piano and organ and also sang. She was a trained nurse and an excellent secretary as well. She and her husband, Pastor Eddie, met while he was conducting a crusade in England. After they were married, they traveled the English countryside conducting crusades in many small towns and villages and planted numerous churches. Shirley was a very spiritual lady and a prayer warrior. As she was led by God, she was an intercessor of prayer for world leaders and television personalities and several came to know the Lord, including Marshal Tito of Yugoslavia and Graham Kerr. She also followed world affairs and how they related to scripture. She once wrote the entire Holy Bible by hand as she read it aloud.
After moving to the United States in 1981, they continued their ministry in several areas. They became naturalized citizens of the United States in 1987. Prior to moving to Dunedin, she and her husband were pastors of Bethel Assembly of God in Okeechobee, FL. When Pastor Eddie became the seniors’ pastor at Clearwater First Assembly of God, Shirley made an immediate impact in that ministry. She has been described as a special lady, great friend, talented, kind loving and spiritual.
Shirley loved the holidays and cooking for the family. She was an avid reader, made clothes and knit. She also enjoyed camping. This very special lady will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester Pinches and Deloris Pinches-Banks, and her brother, Joseph Pinches. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Pastor Eddie Lamb; and son, John Lamb of Dunedin; and many, many friends here in the States and England.
