Stanley A. Shepherd, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2017. He was born in West Virginia on June 22, 1938 a son of Charles A. and Stella G. Shepherd.

He is survived by his wife of 54+ years, Margaret Ann Whealdon Shepherd and three children:
Teresa Ann (Doug) Lowe of Marietta, Ohio , Sherri Lynn (Mike) Mellon of Hebron, Ohio and
Stanley/Andy (Stacy) Shepherd of Bushnell, Florida, and 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

You will be greatly missed Uncle Stanley. You touched many people in a positive manner over the years. I have fond memories of you visiting us in Connecticut when I was a little boy and you was a Marine stationed in Rhode Island. RIP Stanley. You leave a great legacy behind in your family.
My deepest sympathy to Maggie and their family during
This difficult time. I have many memories as a child at the eagles club with Stan & maggie. Glad I was able
To keep in contact with Stan thru Facebook during the last 5 or
So years. Stan & Maggies love was so strong. You could see how deeply they loved one another. I loved watching Their adventures together. Heaven gained a great man.

Stan will be missed! He was great man, father, husband and grandfather! Prayers to all of you ! Rest easy Stan ! Maggie we love you all bunches ! Xoxo
Stan and I had the Marine Corp in common, my oldest son was a Marine and Stan would send me anything Marine Corp related. He was always so happy and kind. My parents were good friends with Stan and Maggie for a lot of years and have always spoke so highly of them. My dad passed away 6 years ago, we know first hand what this feels like. They both are so loved and never forgotten, big hugs to you Maggie from me and mom.
Words can not express how greatly you will be missed. It was a honor to be your favorite Navy gal!! Many thoughts and prayers to the whole family. Stan was above and beyond on so many levels. An inspiration to many, a fighter that would not quit, a real hero. May you rest in peace my Marine brother and until we see each other again. God Bless!
So sorry to hear Maggie. Prayers to you and your family.
It would take me several pages to post all of the memories I have with Uncle Stan! He took me on several hunting trips to WV over the years. I got my first Bow kill in WV with him and his son/my cousin Andy! He let me use his Baker tree stand on that day and that almost killed me! If you have never used a Baker tree stand you won’t get this one! LOL. I got my Buck that day and drove his Blazer back to pic it up! I remember coming up the road in his Blazer and he said you better have a deer in the back of that thing! I guess he thought I was out joy riding! And lucky for me I did have a buck in the back! We would drink a little Wild Turkey and chased it with Grape soda! Pretty good stuff! I helped him find his first Ohio Buck and also mounted it for him! He was a tough guy and didn’t put up with much BS! And if you were around him much you knew it! Good memories!
My condolences to the Shepherd family for the loss of your dearly loved Stanley. May the fond memories and happy times bring joy to your hearts and may the loving prayer with a promise recorded in Matthew 6:9-13 give you some peace and comfort during this difficult time.
Condolences Maggie and family. RIP Stan. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
