Steven Charles Knoop was born September 2, 1959 to Charles & Carol Knoop at St Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.
He resided in Pinellas Park Florida until the age of fourteen, when he moved with his family to St Petersburg.
Steven attended Sacred Heart grade school for eight years. He later attended and graduated from St. Petersburg Catholic High school.
Steven loved sports and was an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Lightening and the Rowdies.
Even though he didn’t attend the University of Florida, he was a Gator fan through-and-through.
Steven was employed with the armored car service for over 20 years, first with Loomis, and then with Wells Fargo and after they acquired Loomis. Steven was later employed by All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg as a security officer.
Steven enjoyed spending time and holidays with his family. He had very special relationships with his granddaughters, Becca, Lilly and Chloe. They all affectionately called him “Pops”.
Steve, “Pops” will be greatly missed as well as all his “Steve-isms” as we would call them.
A Catholic mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church 7809 46th Street North Pinellas Park FL on Thursday Sept 23rd at 11:00 am. Reception will be provided at service.
Thanks for being my friend.
Rest in peace, my friend. Till we meet again. Go Gators.
Thank you, cousin Steve for your friendship and wonderful memories! As kids, I remember you loved to sit in your room for hours listening in on the police radio (back when it was an old school police scanner)! You were always excited to hear the next big thing between the police and whatever crime was going on! And of course, there were the Gator football games we watched together! You are and will be missed…Give hugs to the rest of our family in heaven for me…God bless, XO
