Steven Kent Rotramel, cherished father, loving brother, and devoted husband, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on August 22, 1945, in Princeton, Indiana, Steve was the son of Byron and Gwendolyn (Saxe) Rotramel. He spent his early years in Albion, Illinois, before moving with his family to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1956. Eventually, Steve and his beloved wife, Bette, settled in Seminole, Florida, where they created a warm and welcoming home filled with love and laughter.
On November 24, 1971, Steve married the love of his life, Bette Bundy, at the Palm Lake Christian Church. Together, they formed a partnership that lasted 25 wonderful years until Bette’s passing. Steve was profoundly shaped by this love, and he carried her memory with him throughout his life.
A Vietnam veteran and proud member of the U.S. Army, Steve served his country with honor. His military service instilled in him a deep sense of duty and commitment, traits that he carried into his personal life.
Steve’s greatest pride was undoubtedly his family. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Terra Prestipino, and her husband, Marc. He was a beloved grandfather to their four children: Carson, Griffin, Aiden, and Gracyn, as well as a great-grandfather to little Ada. Steve was always there for his family, cheering them on at every sporting event and dance recital, readily taking on the role of taxi driver and errand runner. He was a constant presence in their lives, sharing in their triumphs and being their rock during tough times.
In addition to his immediate family, Steve is survived by his brother, Michael Rotramel and his wife, Jane; his sister, Sandra Fussnen and her husband, William; sister-in-law, Debbie Auman; brother-in-law, Rick Auman; and his cherished nieces and nephews, including Andrew Fussnen, Josh Levin, and Jill Maddox. Each of them held a special place in Steve’s heart, and he took great joy in being a part of their lives.
Steve was a passionate sports enthusiast, with his heart forever devoted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was a season ticket holder from the team’s very first season in 1976, celebrating countless victories and unforgettable moments with fellow fans. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and he loved sharing that passion with family and friends.
Steve’s smile and jolly laugh will forever be remembered by all who knew him. His spirit was one of kindness and generosity, and he left a lasting imprint on the hearts of those he encountered.
A graveside service in his honor will be held on January 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Bay Pines National Cemetery. His family invites everyone to join them as they celebrate his life and the many memories they shared.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a date and time to be determined.
Though he is preceded in death by his wife, Bette, and his parents, Byron and Gwendolyn, Steven Kent Rotramel’s legacy of love and family will continue to shine brightly through those he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
