Stuart “STU” Nelson Shirk-Vietnam War Veteran
Stuart “Stu” Nelson Shirk 75, of Pinellas Park, FL, formally of St. Albans, WV, passed away August 21, 2022, due to a long illness.
Stuart was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston WV, attended LSU, became a Vietnam Veteran and was retired from Charleston Newspaper in Charleston WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Claudine Shirk and sister Patty Shirk.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Joyce., Daughters, Jennifer Woods of Largo, FL and Joanna Parsons of St Albans, WV.
Brothers, Thomas Shirk of Baton Rouge, LA, and Robert Shirk of South Charleston, WV.
Sisters, Joan Frederick of Newport News, VA, and Judy Simms of Dunbar, WV.
4 Grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Stu “Cajun” was an avid motorcycle rider and had a love for the brotherhood. He leaves behind a ton of friends from all walks of life including Motorcycle Clubs, Apache, In Country Vets and Dying Breed, in which he was a member of over the years.
As per Stu’s wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held in Charleston, Wv at a later date.
RIP Stu you are missed already..Ride High Brother until we meet again.
