Susan Himes Hardee passed away on June 25, 2022 at Sturgill Care Center in Brooksville FL. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 12, 1946 to Richard and Eugenia Rae Himes. Four months after her birth, the family made their home in Tampa, Florida. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dana Hardee, her daughters Debra (Doug) Waugh and Amy Bianchi, and her grandchildren, Jack and Jacob Waugh and Isabella Bianchi. She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Pete Bianchi.
Susan graduated from Plant High School in 1964 and then worked in a variety of administrative positions, but she mostly enjoyed the time she spent at The Calico Cat and with the banner and special events ministries at Idlewild Baptist Church, where Susan and Dana have been faithful members for over 35 years. Working at these places allowed her to serve people and develop lasting friendships. Her beautiful countenance and warm personality will be greatly missed, as she always had a smile on her face and a kind word to offer. The family will receive visitors at Idlewild Baptist Church, 18333 Exciting Idlewild Blvd, Lutz, FL on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. with a service beginning at 11:00 A.M.
What a beautiful lady, inside & out. My most heartfelt sympathy & many thoughts & prayers to you & your family. She will truly be missed! RIP Susan, you deserve all the goodness & love you now have in heaven.
Susan was a beautiful person inside and out. When I think of you I think of a Godly wife and mom. She always was happy and always was smiling. I loved the Godly example she was to us younger ladies. I am glad she is in no more pain and I know she heard well done when she passed over into heaven!
My sincere sympathy at the loss of Susan. May she rest in peace and you be comforted at this time.
Words can not express our deepest sympathy for you all. Amy your mom was an amazing person. Prayers for you all.

Praying for The Lord to comfort you now and in the days ahead.
I’ve known Dana for almost 50 years, but only met Susan in the last few years. I immediately recognized Susan an amazing woman of faith, full of the Holy Spirit, and always displaying His gifts to all those she came in contact with. Susan will be missed by many, but I’m sure the angels and the saints of God are enjoying her presence.
Heaven is blessed with her presence while we will miss her for a while. I know she has already been welcomed by Jesus and she has heard a “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into your rest.” I am praying for God to comfort you and encourage you in these days when you need Him to reassure you of reunion and your temporary separation from Susan. May God embrace you with His arms of love and strength. Grace and peace to you and your family.
She was such lovely lady. Always a smile and quiet word. She bore her suffering with such dignity. So thankful she is at rest with her Savior.
What a wonderful lady!! I love being with her and have enjoyed our times together at Idlewild events. I will sure miss her! Dana… you certainly get the award for faithful and loving husband!! These past few years have been difficult, but you both have been in our prayers and thoughts. I loved being with her at the class picnic a couple of years ago. I was so surprised to see her there, but getting to sit with her and visit that day was a blessing to me… Sending lots of prayers, love and blessings to you Dana… know it is very difficult, but you have the faith in the Lord to carry you through… hope you will be able to continue your mission trips that have been such a big part of your life…
Lots of love, Verita and Loren Buboltz

So sorry for your great loss.
What a beautiful photo of her! So sorry for your loss. We all look to the resurrections as Jesus mentioned at John 5:28,29. That will restore our dead loved ones back to this earth! If you want to read more about that, go to the website jw.org and look up resurrection. Contact me if any questions.

I know Susan will be missed by many including her family who looked up the her as a mom. My memory with Susan goes back to the late 60’s when she was such good friend of my family. She always had the big beautiful smile no matter the situation which was wonderful to see. I remember her and Dana coming the our apartment on Kennedy, then Fig Street and finally out to Lake Padgett. I remember her at our crazy “Bananas” softball games which had to be terrible to watch but she sat there with all the other wife’s and babies cheering us on. Dana I’m sure was her hero and stayed with her though all the surgeries and doctor’s visits along with special home care. God Speed Susan, you left a memory and history for all of us.
