Terry Robert Shafer of Palm Harbor, Florida was born on March 14th, 1946 to Mrs. Dorothy LeBaron Shafer and Harold Franklin Shafer of Milford, Connecticut. Terry died the morning of Sunday, November 15th, 2020 with his close family and friends nearby.
Upon his father’s passing when Terry was only 3 years old, the family moved from Connecticut to St. Petersburg, Florida where Terry spent the remainder of his life, making great friends, being a great brother, and being a great husband and father. Terry was a master engineer and could build or fix just about anything. He had a uniquely uncanny knack for all things mechanical and was a wonder to watch while working. Terry was the epitome of honor, integrity, and morality and did a wonderful job of passing that on to his younger siblings and children. Terry was superbly peaceful and one of the kindest men there was.
Terry loved the biker community and was an avid pool player all his life. His biggest accomplishment in the pool world was when his 8-ball team made it to Las Vegas to compete in the World Championships in 2012.
Terry left behind three siblings, Dave Dion, Christine Baker-Osborn, and Linda Moore, and his four children, Robert Shafer, Cindi Shafer, William Shafer, and James Shafer. Terry had seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Terry was predeceased by his father Harold Shafer, his mother Dorothy Baker, and his brother Donald Shafer.
Terry touched so many lives in such a unique and positive way throughout his 74 years. He was loved by so many people, and to his family and friends, was considered their hero. He will be sorely missed every single day.
My dearest Brother and lifelong Hero. The only person on Earth that I thought of when I had a serious problem or major life decision to make, was you. I cannot find the words to type to communicate my Love to you, my Brother.
I will join you again, because of God’s Grace and sacrifice he made on the Cross at Calvary. We learned and accepted the Message of the Cross, Salvation by Grace through Faith alone, at Community Baptist Church, Gulfport, as youngsters.
You will never leave my memory nor Gratitude for all that you did for me.
Rest in Peace Ter, I see you when the Lord calls me home.
