Thomas M. McDonald-CW2-“Huey Cobra” Pilot-US Army, Vietnam War Veteran, 76, passed away on December 18, 2022 at the Mid Pinellas Care Center, Pinellas Park, Florida. CW2 McDonald Military Service is 2:00 pm, Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Bay Pines National Cemetery, Bay Pines, Florida with the US Army Honors and Ceremonial Team and the American Legion Post 273 officiating. He was born on April 19, 1946 in Skyland, North Carolina to Dan Hill and Vivian (Lance) McDonald. He served our nation during the Vietnam War Conflict as a Huey Cobra Pilot and was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Combat Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; US Army Commendation Medal; Air Medal; Air Medal w/ V Device (VALOR) and the US Army Aviation Badge. His wife, Faye McDonald, who passed away on September 22, 2013 will be interred with him. He was of the Methodist faith and a Life Member of VFW Post 6827.
CW2 Thomas M. McDonald is survived by his loving family: son, Scott McDonald of Clearwater, FL; daughters; Tara M. Myron of Brooksville, FL and Kimberley Gauthier of St Petersburg, Florida; former wife, Suzanne McDonald of Brooksville, Florida; three sisters: Beverly Roche, Teresa Roche and Doris Jean McDonald; grandchildren: Jason Myron, Devin Myron and Shea Myron and six great-grandchildren; Elizabeth Myron, Emily Myron, Thomas Myron, Jaden Myron, Alex Courtney, and Crew Courtney.
