Timothy Eugene Swarthout Age 63 of Palm Harbor, Florida, formerly lived in York, Pennsylvania died 9/7/24 at Walton Place Memory Unit in Tarpon Springs, Florida following an 8 year illness.
Tim was born March 10, 1961 in Williamsport Pennsylvania, the son of the late Arlyne Swarthout Romesberg.
On April 24, 1988 he married Janice Ortenzio at St. Joseph Catholic Church, York,Pennsylvania. They shared 36 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Swarthout, daughter April Shaffer, son Travis Swarthout, son Jason Swarthout, and son Brandon Swarthout, brother Michael Gotschall, and 5 grandchildren.
After serving and being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Tim was a tractor trailer driver. He drove all over the US and Canada.
He was a member of the American Legion in Dallastown, Pennsylvania, He also rode with the American Legion motorcycle riders in Dallastown.
He was a member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor, Florida.
The family has immense gratitude and says thank you to the VA and USF Byrd Alzheimer clinic for Tim’s medical care. We also thank Walton Place for their outstanding care of Tim for the last 2 years of his life. Thank you also to Suncoast Hospice for their help in guiding us through Tim’s illness.
Funeral Mass will be held at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor on Tuesday Sept 24th at 10:30am. Interment with military honors will take place at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg at 1:30pm.
