Veronica L. Mackovic, 82, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on July 31, 2026, at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital. Born on February 29, 1944, in Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of Stephen and Alice Schiller.
Veronica proudly served her country in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Captain. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and was devoted to her family throughout her life. She shared 62 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Darrell W. Mackovic.
A committal service with full military honors will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
