Viola Jeannette Newton, 70, of Oldsmar, Florida passed away May 27, 2016.
Vi was born August 12, 1945 in Margaretville, NY, a daughter of the late John C. Sweatman and Lillian Yordon Sweatman.
Vi enjoyed nature and gardening. She was very compassionate and loving to all she knew.
She was a loving and devoted mother, and grandmother throughout her life. She spent the last 11 years of her life working at Home Depot, loving on her co-workers and customers.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Cory Yordon Newton.
Survivors include two sons; Buster M. Newton of Dunedin, Joseph W. Newton of Oldsmar, one daughter; Sylvia J. Newton of Clearwater, loving ex-husband and father of her children; Buster Newton, one sister; Una Hughes of New York, one brother; John Sweatman and his wife Nancy of New York, and ten grandchildren; Jazmyne Phillips, Brielle Newton, Jakob Newton, Jamari Channell, Kayley Newton, Olivia Newton, Lianna Newton, Isaac Newton, Delaney Newton and Devin Newton.
The family will receive friends from 6-7pm on Thursday June 2, 2016 at Gulf Coast Church, 13301 Walsingham Road, Largo, FL 33774. A funeral service will be held at 7pm with Pastor Randy Morris officiating immediately following the visitation.
Burial will be held at 11am at Largo City Cemetery on Friday, June 3, 2016.

Vi my vi my special friend did everything with passion. She was a great friend , mother , grandmother , neighbor . Her house was always full of children including my own. She always made sure everyone was fed with food an love.
She had the greatest sense of humor . Though the miles have kept us apart the last several years she always remained in my heart .

My deepest sympathy to the family. I had the pleasure of working with viola for seven years. She was a great friend and a good person to talk to she loved working in garden. She will be dearly missed by all her Home Depot friends. She is amongst the Angels now with her son.
