Virginia “Ginger” Arner (née Smolinsky), 87, peacefully passed away on March 3, 2025, at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Born on January 12, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts, Virginia (or Ginger as she was known by to her family and friends) grew up in a large family with eight brothers and sisters and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family and faith. In 1977, she and her husband, Tom, moved to Dunedin, Florida where they finished raising their five children and began enjoying their retirement. She was a dedicated member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Clearwater.
Virginia was a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She cherished time spent with her family and was known for her great sense of humor. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was getting lost in a good book, enjoying a lively game of bingo with friends or watching her Boston Red Sox play.
She is survived by four of her children, Thomas, Catherine, Susan, and John; her grandchildren Tina, Benjamin, Noah, and Jaylon; and her biggest pride and joy, her great-granddaughter Charlotte. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas; son Richard; and parents John and Mary Smolinsky.
Funeral arrangements are being made and will be communicated as soon as they are available.
My sincere condolences to Tommy, Catherine Mary, Susan and Johnny. We had some wonderful times with you and you and your parents over the years. Love to all.
Uncle David and Aunt Rita.
