Walter “Butch” James Keller, Sr., 82, of Sumterville, Florida, passed away at his home on June 30, 2018. He was born in Covington, Kentucky. Prior to moving to Sumterville, he lived in Columbus, Ohio and Lakeland, Florida.
He served his country in the United States Navy for four years, February 1958 to February 1962. Following his service he joined the United States Postal Service where he worked on Vehicle Maintenance until his retirement.
Walter was very skilled at wood working and was a do it yourself kind of guy that could fix anything. He loved to spend time playing cards with his family. Euchre was a favorite of his and he taught the family to play.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Keller; daughters, Millie (Tim) Green and Helen Watson; sons, Walter (Sheree) Keller and Charles (Paula) Keller; sister, Patricia Arthurs; niece, Sandy McGee; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida 33513.
