Walter John Wiedeman of Bradenton was born January 9, 1927 in Ohio. He died March 10, 2016 in Bradenton. A veteran of WWII, he served with the Coast Guard and the Navy Seabees in the South Pacific where he was wounded at Iwo Jima during the construction of a Loran tower.
Walter was involved in many interesting endeavors prior to his retirement. He piloted the Goodyear Blimp and was a plastics engineer in Ohio. In Bradenton he owned a marina, service station, stained glass shop and was a local realtor. He was a wonderful generous man who was dedicated to his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 34 years Carol Wiedeman; brother Bill; children Mike, Rob and Eric; stepchildren Ron, Susie, Fred, Tom and Ruth; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A military service will be held at the Sarasota National
Cemetery on March 21.
