ayne Edward Kahmer, 81, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2018 in Clearwater, FL. He was born February 28, 1936 and was a life-long resident of Catonsville, MD.

Life

After graduating from Catonsville High School and receiving his Bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland, Wayne pursued many interesting professions including junior high school math and science teacher, computer programmer, real estate agent, tax accountant, and property manager. He also held various roles in Civil Service for the Social Security Administration and Army Map Services. He was endlessly curious and never stopped pursuing new interests.

Wayne had a true zest for life. He was always ready for adventure or to help those in need. He loved visiting with friends and family, swimming, playing tennis, watching sports, exploring nature, traveling, and dancing at every opportunity. An avid follower of current events, he could talk to anyone about anything with an unmatched charm and wit. In his later years, Wayne enjoyed vacationing and wintering in Florida with his beloved sister Lois and her family. His companionate and joyful nature made him a great friend to many.

Family

Surviving are sister Lois Hartshorn; niece Heather and her husband David Gunasegaram; niece Nicole, her husband Brad Dundas and grandnephews Van and Colton, all Seattle area; and Lois’s brother and sister in law, Bob and Pat Pawling and cousin Frieda, her husband Stanley Hartman and family in Virginia.

He was proceeded in death by his mother Elva and father Oscar Kahmer.

Services

A Celebration of Life will take place March 25 at 2 p.m. at The Corral Clubhouse located at Ranchero Village 7100 Ulmerton Rd, Largo, FL 33771.
